Musatchioed Manpliment Month

Man*pli*ment
[n. man-pluh-muhnt; v. man-pluh-ment]

–noun
1. an expression of praise, commendation, or admiration of attributes that petrain to manliness, made by one man to another :  A sincere manpliment boosts one's morale.
–verb (used with object)
1. to pay a manpliment to:  He manplimented the stranger on his manly mustache.
I've had facial hair of all sorts for many years now, and have recieved coments of all sorts since.  I've never really been a big fan of shaving (due to sensitive skin), so usually there has only been a small portion of surface area on my face without hair.  From beard variations, to sideburn designs, facial hair has always been somthing I enjoy having and enjoy changing.  Until recently though, I have yet to let the mustache fly solo.  I found a razor that is appropriate for my skin, and decided to give it a go.  Being that November is offical Men's Health month (Movember), I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the several manpliments I've recently recieved about my mustacheNow, I did not plan this for Movember, nor did I participate in the "grow from nothing" challenge, but I do think it's a worhty cause.  I guess my surprise comes at my own view of my mustache.  I always thought I can just barely get away with even having one!  Dark and thick the hairs may be, they are quite sparse when campared to some more famous examples.  I liked it well enough to keep it on for now, but I just may extend my stache's stay if these manpliments keep up.
I recently escorted my cousin to a viewing of a room for rent in the city.  Upon being greeted by the host, she (my cousin) recieved the appropriate "Hello, nice to meet you", I followed with my introduction, and he responded with "oh hey, uh... nice mustache!"  At first, I thought it might be sarcastic, but I think the look of admiration on his face changed my mind quick enough for me to resppond "Oh! wow, thanks man!".  Just this morning, before I could even order my coffee, the barista greeted me with "How's it going?  Nice mustache man!"  "Oh, thanks, I appreciate that"
My surprise also comes with the fact that either of these men could easily grow a thicker, fuller more bad-ass mustache than I can!  They both had pretty full beard capacity, based on the greyish undertone of their shaven skin.  Oh, and there is no shortage of mustaches in this city, trust me.  It seems like it is coming "back in style", or has been for sometime, with younger men, most of whom look like they belong to a certain social group, based on their similar stlye of dress (plaid shirts); a large percentage of which ride fixed gear bikes and reside The Mission.
I am enjoying the solo stash more and more so I'll keep it up until I become inspired to change it and will thoroughly enjoy each manpliment.  So, if you see an impressive upper lip umbrella, please don't hesitate to compliment (or manpliment) the man behind the stash.

SRT and Me

“Old and Heavy” (as it is often criticized as) though it may be, no other camera has treated him so well, given so much, or laughed so often as his SRT.

I recently updated my "artist's bio" on my profile for RAWarists.org.  I decided to take a less conventional, more narrative approach to the bio.  I usually don't know what to write about myself when asked for something like this, besides the usual "Aaron has been _ for _ years, he strives to _ in his work and hopes that people _ .  He started _ at the age of _ and has since _."  etc.  After looking at some bio's on other artists profiles, I became inspired to write something that fell in the middle of fact and fiction.  Some artists wrote some completely fictional "I don't give a shit about this" bio's and most others were just way to factual and boring for my taste.  Check it out, and feel free to listen to my newly updated playlists!
